New for 2005 is a shared
tour from Salt Lake City to Arches National Park, Canyonlands National
Park and Dead Horse Point State Park. The tours are designed to
be undertaken in conjunction with either or both of our
Yellowstone tours, and our
Bryce
Canyon/Zion/Grand Canyon/Las Vegas tours.
While you're here,
check out the fun that some of our previous guests had! This
link will open in another window.
Our tour leaves Salt Lake
City in the early afternoon - to give guests an opportunity to fly in from
around the country - and heads for Bryce Canyon first, and then takes in
Zion National Park and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, before finishing
in Las Vegas. The itinerary can be found
here, the
prices here, and the dates here.
For more specific
information on each of the three national parks that we visit on this
tour, please check out the following of our web sites. Each will
Should you prefer it, we
also offer private tours and bus charters. Vehicle options include
47 and 55 passenger coaches, as well as smaller mini bus rentals and
SUV's. Private tour costs depend on the number of people, the
duration of the tour, and the type of vehicle selected. Please
mail us, or call 1 800 724 7767 or (USA) 801 366 5466 for additional
information, or to make a reservation.

Hanging
Rock and then head straight for Delicate Arch, Utah's state symbol,
and the most famous arch in the world. At three miles round trip,
this is not a particularly long hike, bit it may not be for
everyone. There is a vertical altitude gain of
500
feet over the slickrock for which the area is famous, and it may be
hot, but the view at the top makes up for the effort to get there.
You are welcome to sit out the hike if you choose. |

Today
you'll be taking one of the most fascinating hikes you've ever been
on! The day starts with a briefing session from a ranger at
the Arches Visitors'
Center, to prepare you for the
Fiery Furnace (this link to another of our web sites will open
in a new
window). The hike is only about two miles long, but it will
take approximately three hours, as you clamber up and down rocks,
and through narrow slot canyons. A ranger leads the tour, as
it
is too easy to get lost in the Furnace if you go on your own. You
don't have to do the Fiery Furnace tour if you don't want to, and
our guide can drop you elsewhere in Arches for
that
time, if you choose.
The Fiery Furnace
is generally not the first activity of the day done, and amongst the
first things you will probably do today is an easy stroll along Park Avenue.
Numerous other
arches, spires and fins will be seen, including a selection of the Windows arches, Double Arch, Landscape Arch,
Double O Arch and Skyline Arch. There is plenty of time to
take
photographs and videos as you wander around some of the world's most
fascinating scenery. We'll enjoy a sack lunch somewhere in
Arches. |

mighty Colorado River flows through Moab, and next up is a raft

into the summer, you'll get to shoot some rapids in the company of
experienced river guides. |

There
are three sections to Canyonlands, and we'll be exploring the Island
in the Sky. Unlike the Grand Canyon, you can stand on the high
plateau that is the Island in the Sky and gaze out over
canyon
country almost as far as the eye can see. The view of the Green
River (the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers is in
Canyonlands) is spectacular, and that is just one of several view
points you will be
visiting.
Amongst the stops are Upheaval Dome (possible site of a meteor
strike), Grandview Point and Schafer Trail View Point.
We'll enjoy a sack lunch somewhere in Arches. |
